Houston, We Have a Problem!

Mom says we have a problem with Hootchie Pootchie, aka Gaia.
She seems to be growing before our very eyes.  She gets picked on by Armani, Charli and CocoBean all the time.  Mom thinks she now has a food addiction because of this, and she is nervously eating out of everycat's food dishes whenever she can sneak a bite.  When mom says, no, no, no, in a stern voice she runs away from the food dishes, so she knows she is doing wrong.  What are we to do?  There is a lot of food out for skinny minnie JB, or JB won't eat enough.  **sigh**

Maybe Gaia can eat in her own space like the bathroom or her crate until everycat is finished dinner.
It will be hard to keep her away from JB's foods though.
Maybe JB needs her own feeding area too.
We are not sure what to suggest.

Kirby is my over eater! He has his head in the bowl, now! I have no answers!

This is a problem for my human too. When Sparkle was here, she picked and grazed - and the other cats wolfed down their food and wanted to steal hers. Now, it's similar with me, since I'm a kitten and only eat a little at a time. Fortunately the other two cats are currently keeping their distance from me and my food (that probably won't last long). Honestly, she's never found a satisfactory solution.

We have dinnertime, and then the food gets taken away. Pierre would prefer to eat a little at a time, but he has learned that he had better eat while the food is there, or it won't be around. Is there any way that would help motivate JB?

Ernie is a slow eater and when he's done eating for the moment, the mom takes his food away and hides it, otherwise I will eat it all. Then when Ernie wants to eat more, she puts it out for him. Unfortunatley, I get a little jealous because I see him eating and I want more food. So she has to give me a few crunchies to hold me over. She's been cutting back on my meal to make sure I don't eat too much.

You may have to give Gaia a separate place to eat and make sure she only gets her food and not anymore.

We have this same problem with eight of us. The fast eaters are always nosing the slower eaters out of their bowls. Mom shoos us away and picks up the bowls and gives them to the skinny kitties in the household. XO, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

We need to police the kitties at meal time and even then Sammy, my 20 pounder will eat as much of everyone else's that he can. There is a facial recognition feeder, but I think it is very pricey.

The great problem of a multi-cat household.

Our friend San over at Cat Tales has been using an animal communicator to try and iron out issues between her cats. Is this something you might consider?
