Identity Crisis - Thoughts on Thursday

Things have been real sad at our house, so leave it to my brother, Bear, to lighten things up are Bear's Thoughts on Thursday!

If I could only squeeze my head through this little hole......just a little further....

Ah, that's if I could only climb up this cat tower just a little further so I can play with my little brother, Dumplin'!

Here is a video of brothers Bear and Dumplin' playing, for your viewing pleasure:

Whap, whap, whap.....WHAP!

Dumplin' please come back and play with me. I am so bored now.

Identity Crisis? Perhaps. This may be what happens when a puppy grows up in a house full of cats!

I Miss My Sister

I miss my sister, Misty, very much.

She used to love this old purple sweater. It kept her furry warm.
I keep looking for her in her room, but she is nowhere to be found.

This is the bed in Misty's room. Maybe I should look for her under the covers?

Misty, are you in here? I miss you so much!

We have been so sad, but we got a wonderful surprise last week from our good friends, Deetz, Sharkie, and their mum!

Deetz has always told me how wonderful the sunflower fields are where he lives, but I never imagined that sunflowers could be this beautiful! Maybe if my little bro, Dumplin' is good, I will let him come on an adventure with me and Deetz to frolic through the sunflower fields one day.

Thank you so much Deetz, Sharkie, and mum!

Good-Bye, Sweet Misty

It is with deep sadness and pain that I have to tell you all that my mom helped Misty to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday morning.

Mom's heart is breaking to have lost two of her girls within one month, and she still has not gotten over losing PooPoo so suddenly on 1/13/09.

Misty began her journey with my mom as a super floofy kitten, rescued from a Bay Area shelter in California. She was always on the shy side, but was always a big purr machine, though she never meowed at all.

Misty was the Super Model of our family, and for good reason. She grew into a gorgeous Glamour Girl, and was always striking a beautiful pose.

Misty was the sweetest sister to me, but she had a lot of health problems. She had been ill with kidney issues for almost half of her 13 and a half years. In Feb 2006, she had a kidney removed and almost died, but mom nursed her back to health. Misty was mom's Miracle Girl, and mom was able to give her almost 3 more years of life and love, till her little body began to give out for the last time.

Misty had most of the terrible CRF symptoms that are common with this disease, and mom could not watch her suffer any more. Though Misty had never spoken, she had started making little meowing sounds like she was trying to tell mom it was time.

Mom had to make the heart wrenching decision to help Misty to the Bridge yesterday morning.

Run free, my big sis, Misty, run free with PooPoo and Taffy. We love you and will miss you so much. One day we will all be together again.

Misty Update, and Valentine Surprise

Sorry we have not posted that much lately. Mom is very worried about Misty, and she thinks it may be time to help her to the Bridge tomorrow. Misty had a bad night. She has not eaten much any more, hardly drinks and is down to under 6 pounds now, from 7.6 pounds on Dec 31. This morning mom could hardly pull up any skin in order to give her subQ fluids, and for the first time Misty tried to run away while mom gave her the fluids.
Mom has been asking Misty gently if it is time.....

Misty is telling mom not to cry, and that she will be ok. Misty has been looking out from her window seat wondering what she will find at the Rainbow Bridge......

On a more happy note, thank you to our friend Lorianna, for such a nice Valentine's surprise she sent us.

There was a bag of primo nip with a feather toy in it! Lorianna knows how I just love feathers!

Aahhh, the smell of primo nip! There is nothing comparable!

Lorianna made us a beautiful handmade card. She is so creative!

Of course, Dumplin' tried to steal my feather away, and play with it all day! Mom was very happy with the chocolates just for her too!

Thanks so much, Lorianna!

Caught Snuggling & Misty Update

Here is what happened this weekend.......

My little brother, Dumplin', started getting a tad bit too comfortable!

I told him he needs to knock it off, otherwise my mom will think I like him.

Then THIS happened! I woke up and Dumplin' was SNUGGLING with me on my tower!

How did this happen??

Mom, I think there is something wrong with your camera. Is the focus off? I can't possibly be SNUGGLING with my little brother!

Another installment of The Misty Report:

Misty here....I just want to let everyone know that I am still trying to get well, but I am still not feeling good at all. I still have a furry nice profile, don't you think?

My mom is taking really good care of me, and giving me my subQ fluids. I am still eating, but not enough to keep my weight on. Mom gives me special kisses and scritches every day, hoping that it will help.

We will keep you posted on Misty......

Advice from a Bear

It's me Dumplin' again....... My brother, Bear, is very smart. He gave me some advice about JB and how to make her love me.

He is going to show me the ropes on how to win over JB. We talked for a while, and he told me that I need to make sure that JB knows she is still Queen of the Castle.

JB gave me a talkin' to, just like she did to Bear when he came to live here. I listened to her, and told her I will be a really good little brother to her so she won't be lonely any more.

I told JB that she is my role model, and I will look up to her to teach me new things.

I really love my new home, and I have only been here for 4 days. JB has been warming up to me, and we even played together last night and this morning! I am sure we will have lots of fun adventures together!!

Bear sure gave me some good advice!

Chicken & A Dumplin'

Here is the update from yesterday......I was so scared when I found out what my surprise dumplin' was. I found out it was a BoyKitten named Dumplin', and he is now my new little brother!

He weighs 3 pounds and he is 10 weeks old. Mom found him at a very nice foster home, where he was born with his brothers and sisters.

I was so scared when my mom introduced me to him. I was shaking like a leaf and mom made fun of me and she called me a "Chicken"!

I tried to get more brave, and puffed my furs up as much as I could. I am 7 pounds, you know, but my mom says I puffed myself up to look like I weighed at least 10 pounds! That'll show him!

Look how scary he is! And he is using all of my stuff! Mom....Dumplin' is in my red tent!

Dumplin'.....I will give you my biggest ever laser eyes!

Mom, oh no, mom!! He is using my SmartyKat Scratchy Scroll!! Mom, please, no, not my Scratchy Scroll!!

That's it. I am a Lion, I will roar at you, you scary Dumplin'!

Hi, it's me Dumplin'! Nice to meet everyone in the blogosphere! My big sister, JB, has some issues, but hopefully she will love me soon! I just love my new home!

Over and out....Chicken & a Dumplin' signing off!
