I am No Trouble For My Mom

My house is full of animals with problems, except for me......I am no trouble for my mom. I wish my mom could get a break. She takes care of us all the time, and with my sisters getting older, it is a lot of work.
Remember when I said that PooPoo got a Happy Kitty nip heart for Christmas, and that she was feeling a "tiny bit happier"?
PooPoo has been taking Reconcile since early November. It is a Prozac based doggie medicine for behavioral issues, which the V-E-T has seen positive results from when used for cats.
At first mom thought the Reconcile was working a little bit, but lately PooPoo has been pooping and peeing up a storm even worse, and NOT in the litter box! (She is still confined to the bathroom, by the way.)
Then just this week, mom discovered that PooPoo is missing her top right incisor (fang) tooth, and also the one below it is half broken off! What has PooPoo been doing in the bathroom to have lost two teeth?
Has anyone out there had this happen to any of their kitties? Mom thinks she will have to take PooPoo to the vet because of possible tooth infection now.
What's next for my mom? Like I said......I am no trouble for my mom. Uh, mom could you please come and play with me?

Before you go, please sign my GUESTBOOK, and stop by my BIG WORLD too, thanks!

JB, I am glad you are no trouble for your mom, because it sounds like she has her hands full! We know how draining it can be to always feel a sense of worry about your furkids.

I hadn't heard of Reconcile before, and it's too bad that it isn't working better for PooPoo. I can't even begin to figure what might be going on with her!

Oh no, we are sorry to hear that you have lost two teeth! We hope its not an infection. Poor PooPoo!

JB, we sympathise with your Mom, it's hard work and we are glad that you remain healthy. You are her rock!

Maybe the Reconcile was working but the broken teef have caused Poo Poo pain and the pain is overiding the effect of the Reconcile. We hope the vet can take the borken teef out. Tabbus had a broken upper canine once, no idea what he broke it on, but his behaviour became aggressive towards the other cats almost immediately and returned to normal once the broken toof came out. Vet said that the dentine inside was exposed at the broken end, hence da pain! We send more gentle nose kisses for Poo Poo and some for your Mom too.

Thanks for visiting, we are ok, just having a little break from posting whilst Mum catches up on heaps of work stuff. We'll be posting again soon.

hi JB, you are such a good kitty. we don't know what to say about Poo Poo. your mom has checked out all possible medical problems - is Poo Poo getting old? we don't know how old she is.

we feel bad for your mom. our mom says it's very stressful when moms have to worry about their children and try to make everyone happy and healthy. we wish that Poo Poo would just give your mom a break for a little while and let your mom relax and be happy.

woofs.

We're sorry to hear PooPoo has some tooths problems. We hope the vet can take care of them.

You know, Zoey and Wally are both taking prozac in order to help with the introduction process which hasn't been real successful thus far...but we keep working on it!

We hope your mom can play with you...

JB,
yes, your poor mama has her hands full. Thank dog that you are healthy!
I wonder what happened to Poo Poo's teefies! She must be biting on something very hard to cause them to break off. Hey, maybe she gave her teefies to the tooth fairy.
Hope she gets well!

I haven't experienced this, but maybe the whole lost tooth is due to gum disease? As others said, she might be in pain from the broken tooth and that it's infected.

I'm glad you're a good girl and don't give your Mom any problems. It's so hard on Moms (and Dads) when our pets get older or have serious health issues, to try to help them to be better and comfortable. ((to you and your family))

Oh no! Poor PooPoo! I feel so badly for her. And poor Mom just must be worried sick between her and Misty. Our furbabies do become more challenging to care for as they age. I'm sure the VET will fix PooPoo right up and then her Reconcile will work again. I haven't heard of it before, but if it is helping that's a good thing! Billie made a mess of herself again and had to be cleaned up. My daughter was embarrassed because she had a friend over when Billie wasn't smelling too good. Like Billie wanted to smell bad...
JB, you are a good kittygirl and I'm sure your Mom would love to play with you when she has a chance honey. I will add PooPoo to my thoughts and prayers when I light my special candle. I'm glad I checked in today. Something told me to, but I was afraid it was Misty.
Take care all of you okay?
Sending Gentle Hugs,
Lorianna

JB, I am sorry your Mom is having such a rotten time :( Poor PooPoo. Maybe it is her teeth that is causing her current behavior. With two sick kitties and Vet bills,it is good that you are causing no problems. I think your Mom might feel better if she played with you too :) You look like you are ready!!

Oh JB, you are a VERY good kittie!

We are sorry to hear about PooPoo. I hope that the vet can fix her teeth and that she feels better. Like Everycat said, if she's in pain, that might explain what's been happening.

It is very hard on our people when things are happening with us. The best way to help is with lots of cuddles! Please give your Mom slurpy brown dog kisses and Girlie hugs from us!

JB, your mum will have to take PooPoo to the v-e-t but hopefully that will fix her problems - she might be miserable because she is in pain. I'm sorry it's been so difficult for you all lately.

Oh, poor PooPoo. I hope the vet can help her.

My old vet had me on some kind of behavioral medication for a while, too, but I finally adjusted to our move and I'm okay. Treater says she can't remember what it was called, but the vet called it "kitty prozac."

Deetz said...

Maybe PooPoo pulled her own teeth to the tooth fairy in exchange for money because she is planning a bathroom break? ummm, what do you think?
I think your mum should just take a break and play with you, cuz you are so good.

Poor PooPoo and also poor Misty! I hope things start to look up soon. If the tooth issue is fixed and you think the Reconcile is not doing its job, maybe the dosage should be changed or there is another prozac-type med that will work. Maybe your Mom/vet just needs to keep finding the right mix and right med to do the magic. It sounds like the Reconcile was working at first and judging from the photo of PooPoo resting, she looked relax and probably felt pretty good when the photo was taken.

Poor Poo Poo. I hope she will be good. Tell us the things that your vet should say about Poo Poo.

Oh poor Poo-Poo. It is no fun to have broken teeths and medicine that does not work. I hope your vet can find something to help her.

Maybe you can get your Mom to sit down for a few minutes and then you can cuddle with her. It is hard when Moms are so busy.

JB,

I wonder how PooPoo broke her teeth!? Maybe she's trying to bite the door open? That's very odd. I'm sorry the prosac doesn't seem to be working any more. Maybe she needs a higher dose??? Libby's been having some problems again too so we're wondering if the cortisone shot has worn off. I guess she's going to have to go to the V-E-T too...
