Misty on Monday

Mom is still busy! So we have to find ways to entertain ourselves. After Misty makes her biscuits on her pad, she then likes to watch wildlife. Can you see our friend, Peter Rabbit outside?

Mom! Peter Rabbit is fun, but we miss you and want you to play with us!

My Special Job

I think I have talked about my Special Job before, which is "catching birdies". I do this every day it is sunny. Yesterday the sun was just right for "catching birdies" from our dining room table. Mom laughs every time I do this, but it is a very important job!

Here I am getting into position and focusing on the task at hand.

Are they up there?

You can tell when I start really getting into it because my whiskers get SUPER perky!

I do my very best Meerkat impressions when I am "catching birdies"!

Sometimes I have to stand on my tippie toes and reach really far for the birdies.

But, if they are too far away, I sit back in my Meerkat position and just wait for them to come to me!

I do this every day. It is my Special Job.

(For those of you who do not know what the "birdies" are that I am catching, they is small specks of dust or strands of my furs that I see glistening in the rays of sunshine coming into the house.

Misty's Biscuit Shop

Mom is still away in L.A. and we miss her! Before mom left she bought Misty this cooshy squishy pad to sit on in our window seat.

Misty immediately started making biscuits on this pad, and she has never been much of a biscuit maker in her 13 years of life! Now she wants to know what she is supposed to do with all the biscuits since mom is not home. I'd say Misty has a bit of a biscuit back-up!

P.S. For those of you who don't know about biscuits......that is when us cats "knead" with our paws......like kneading dough or "making biscuits". It's a cat thing......

Neon Toesday

Today on Toesday, I would like to reflect on my toes once again. I have some interesting toes. Mom says I am very unique and special sort of like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but I should rather be called, JB the White Toed Jelly Bean!

At closer inspection, my toes sure do have a bit of a neon effect, don't you think? Or maybe I just have a hole in my striped stockings!!

P.S. My mom is in L.A. for meetings all week but she said she would post a couple times for me. I will visit you all when she gets back!

Today I am Incognito

My mom has been telling me for two days now that she is too busy to help me blog or play with me. So I was so upset, I hid under this blanket. Maybe there is something for me to do under here. Can you see me? I am trying to be incognito.....that is a big word I learned that means I am hiding my identity.

Here I am with a view from under my blanket. It has lots of threads hanging from the inside, from where mom USED to play with me! Mom USED to poke me from outside and I would shred the blanket on the inside. That is how it USED to be.....

Mom, don't disturb me. I am ignoring you today! I am incognito.

I am sad and I miss all my friends in the blogosphere.

Taffy's Purple Sweater

When I mentioned a sweater in my last post, it made me think of this story about my sister, Taffy. I would like to talk about a sweater again today, and also about the little cedar box you can see here below me on the shelf of my desk in Big and Small World Studios.

First I would like to show you this purple sweater. My grandma knitted this sweater for my mom many years ago, before I was borned. My mom kept the sweater in a closet on a hanger until one day, it fell down on the floor. At that moment, it became my sister, Taffy's sweater. Taffy just LOVED this sweater, because it was so soft on her toes. She made biscuits on this sweater every single day from that day forward!

But you might ask, why does this sweater have one arm cut off of it now? Well, my mom cut off the arm of this sweater when it was time for Taffy to go to the Bridge. Mom wanted Taffy to be able to make biscuits forever, and wanted her to be warm forever. So mom took the one arm of this sweater and let Taffy take it to the Bridge with her.

Inside this little cedar box is where Taffy's spirit and the arm of the purple sweater stays with us now. She will always be with us, and this little cedar box always sits on the shelf here at Big and Small World Studios.

Taffy loved sleeping in the sun, and she was mom's "Sunshine Girl" and she will never be forgotten.

Even now, as we are writing about her, almost two years later, mom is very sad. We will never forget Taffy......

Whisker Wednesday Evening & 6 Quirky Things Meme

Ever wonder about whiskers? Why are my whiskers different colors? Half of them are dark and half of them are white. Just a thought I was pondering today on Whisker Wednesday!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have been tagged by Beetle at Beetle Blog for the 6 Quirky Things Meme. I have to list six quirky things about myself. I hope most of these things could be considered "quirky"!
Here are the Rules:
1. Link the person(s) who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules on your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogs letting them know they've been tagged.
Here is my list! These are 6 Quirky Things About Me, JB!
1. I like to offer myself as a "sweater" to my mom. When mom is wearing shorts and the weather is too hot, I like to lay on her bare legs when she is working in her office, just in case she gets cold.
2. I must never be alone at all costs! I am always in the room that my mom is in.
3. I speak a lot all the time. I like to talk in the daytime, but prefer to talk at night mostly. Mom doesn't like this one bit when she is trying to sleep!
4. To add to point #3, I hate it when my mom is talking on the phone. Whenever she is one the phone, I must come and sit right in front of her and speak loudly till she gets off.
5. I wash myself at least once an hour. I must be clean and fresh smelling at all times and my furs must be pristine. My mom appreciates this quirk about me a lot!
6. I am a real scaredy cat. Any time the doorbell rings, I quickly run and hide.
I don't know if these things are considered quirky, but it is what I am. If you have not done this meme yet, consider yourself tagged!
Tongue Twister Tuesday & Awards!
I heard my mom whistling to PooPoo to come out from under the bed today. I thought to myself.....I have never tried to whistle before! Let me try it! But, it seems that my tongue had a mind of its own and it kept getting in the way. Maybe I should just stick to what I do best......meowing and talking up a storm!
Misty got this You Make My Day Award from our friends, Pedro and Libby. Libby is a kitty missing one leg and our Misty is missing one kidney. Thank you so much to Pedro and Libby! JB, Personal Trainer, at Your Service!
My mom used to work out a lot at the gym, but lately she has been really lazy, so she tries to workout at home sometimes. This is where I step in, as Mom's Personal Trainer. This morning was a typical workout. Every time I walk into our workout room, I still freak myself out when I see myself in the mirror...don't know why....I just do!
Before we start, I recommend that my mom does some stretching. Here I am demonstrating the correct form when doing stretches.
I am not so sure that my mom can lift these weights. 15 pounds is like lifting up two Jelly Beans!
Ok, mom, let's see what you are made of. Pick up this weight in front of me. I need you to do three sets. Feel the burn!
Mom, you can't quit now! 5 more reps! Keep going! You can do it! ....This is how I motivate my mom with my exceptional coaching skills.
I am a very good Personal Trainer, but sometimes I get bored.....
Mom, can I watch Animal Planet?
Thanks, mom! Now no cheating while I focus on this show about doggies!
Yesterday Was a Big Day!
This is what happened yesterday. My mom got a lot older! Well, at least that is what she said she feels like.
Guess what?  We got our new computer! I helped mom to set it up. It is super duper fast and I am super duper excited! Now I can go visit you all again, and mom will not have a brain aneurysm any more!
As for Misty, she is just waiting patiently for more modeling gigs. Ha ha, I put one of my crumpled papers under the table in this photo.....and she does not know it is there! Silly Misty.....she does not know that she must have all camera angles checked before photo shoots!
PooPoo was not involved in yesterday's activities, because she just didn't care!
Happy Birthday, Mom!
Mom! Mom!  I figured out how to use the computer to do a post! I just had to write this post today, mom, so I could wish you a very Happy Birthday!
Mom, in honor of your birthday, I wanted to show you one of my most exceptionally cute poses. Thank you for finding me when I was an orphan, and adopting me, and hope you have a great birthday!
Computer Meltdown Continues
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that I can not post anything at all, as my My Pictures folder is completely messed up. So, I am sending my mom to the store tomorrow morning to buy me a new computer. We only hope we can get all my pictures off of the old computer! I am so worried......and my mom says she for sure has a brain aneurysm from all this mess!
Tears,
JB
Teknickel Difficulties
Some of you have been asking where I have been, and why Misty has been a Blog Hog lately. Well, we are still having teknickel difficulties and our computer is so messed up, that I have not been able to access any pictures or do ANYTHING! I have been working behind the scenes here at JB's Big & Small World Studios, trying to troubleshoot.
See me working? See how perturbed I look?
It all started when we added Norton anti-virus to our computer. That did not work, so mom tried a 60 day trial of Avast. That seemed ok till Tuesday of this week when she was forced to update to the year version of Avast. That is when all h__l broke loose! Our computer is completely messed up now! I am so upset!
Tears, JB
Catering to Misty
Mom: Oh Misty!......Misty!......MISTY!
Misty: zzzzzzzz......
Mom: Is there anything I may do for you today? What can I spoon feed to you? Are you hot? Shall I turn the A/C temperature cooler for you? Some perfectly chilled imported spring water, perhaps?
Misty: Nothing for me right now. I am quite content. But please stand by, should my wants, needs and desires change.
Modeling With Misty & Acting With BooBoo Kitty?
Today is Monday evening and it just rained a lot, so mom and daddy are not sitting on the patio. (Hee Hee....those nice new patio cushions from yesterday are now all wet!) So here is what is going on inside with Misty. I really do believe she thinks she is a model. She is always posing!
And she is always begging for food. Here she is showing her BooBoo Kitty face. She practices this face daily and always pretends she is about to shed a tear, so mom will feed her fresh food. Mom falls for the BooBoo Kitty "act" every time!
~~~~Ring, Ring~~~~ Oh Misty, is that Hollywood calling?

(P.S. In the first photo, Misty forgot again to dry her face after drinking water. She still needs to polish up her modeling skills just a bit!)

So much Fuss About a New Patio

What is this? Mom bought these nice comfortable pads and laid them on our floor so naturally we thought they were for us. But NO. They are for the patio. Why so much fuss about our new patio?

We don't like the new patio at all, because mom and daddy are spending too much time out there and not inside with us! And we are too scared to go out there to be with them.

Hey! Maybe we should get PooPoo to poop on these new pads so mom and daddy will stay inside with us!

PooPoo agreed to the proposed pooping task immediately, but luckily for mom, she took the pads outside to the patio just in time!

Where Has PooPoo Been?

Hogging the bed whenever she can!

Mom has to cover her bed with all sorts of blankets and towels so PooPoo does not soil the bed. Poor PooPoo. She is just getting older and crankier and smellier by the day. But mom still loves her!

P.S. My mom has had 2 really long days at work and she hopes to help me get caught up on everyone's blog tomorrow. AND I will post about the goodie package I got!

My job was to send goodies to Chef's catsisters, Beauty and Rugrat, and I specially picked out what I wanted my mom to send them, but the Fedex man could not deliver!

I am not my usual self today for my belly snuggle. Can you see how upset I am? The Fedex man has my International package of goodies I personally selected for Beauty and Rugrat......Tears, JB

Painted Cats - What Do You Think?

My mom's friend emailed her this today about a book about
painted cats, and I wanted to post it to see what you all thought.
Is this animal cruelty or is it art?

The book these came from said some of the paint jobs cost $15,000 and had to be repeated every 3 months as the cat's hair grows out. That's $60,000 a year just to keep your cat painted!

Would any of you let your moms paint your furs?? I, JB, would not!
