Out of Office on Big World Assignment

Bad News Flash!

My mom and daddy Len will be on assignment on a cruise for the next week! They told me I could not use the computer while they were gone, because I get too many furs between the keys of the keyboard. I hope to have new material for my Big World when they get back. I will miss you all lots, and please think of me, all alone, just me and my sisters, all alone for a week......Kelly, our petsitter only comes once a day......I am crying already!

P.S. Mom and Daddy Len: You had better come back with some good material and pictures for me for my Big World! Otherwise, you never know.....I may learn some spiteful habits from PooPoo!

Careful with the Snoopervising!

It is getting closer to the day that mom and Daddy Len will leave me alone for a week. Daddy Len took out a rectangular box with zippers last night, and I knew the time was near. I am very worried!

I went and snoopervised to see what he was doing and also got inside the rectangular box with zippers to see what was going on. I am REALLY VERY worried! I may not sleep well tonight.

I must be careful though......must not stay inside this rectangular box with zippers for TOO long......and I will tell you why......

Small Places for Small Me!

I am very small so I fit in small places!

We Like to Sit in Pairs!

At my house we like to sit in pairs. We don't get as lonely this way.

We like to snuggle up against pillows on beds.


Or on top of pillows on beds!

But, Misty is too scared to join us in pairs. She prefers to be solo.....with the comfort of a hiding spot!

7 Random Facts About Me

My friend, Ariel, tagged me for a Meme called The Seven Random Facts About Me, and here are my answers.

1. Every day when the sun shines through the front window, I like to catch "birdies". "Birdies" are flecks of dust that glisten in the sunshine. Or mom will pet me and then let my furs fly in the sunshine and I catch those birdies too. I do this every day.

2. I like to ride on my mom's back or drape myself over her shoulder! If mom is bending over to pick something up and I am nearby, I just hop on. Mom will take me for a ride then.....and I especially like to ride up and down the stairs.

3. When my mom is working from home, I must always sleep on her desk (on my blue blankie), just in case she needs an assistant, or if she has time to blog.

4. I like to play and hide underneath blankets and wait for mom to poke me from outside.

5. If my mom is sitting on the couch, and I need her, I will jump up on her, look her straight in the eyes, and speak really loudly. Then I jump down. If no response, then I jump up from the other side and speak louder. I keep doing this until my mom gets up and comes to play with me.

6. After I poop, I have to run around the house really really fast, because I feel so free! I do this every time I poop.

7. I walk mom to the door every time she leaves the house (with my biggest pouty face), and then wait for her at the door for when she comes home. I am a dog in a cat suit.

I Can Spell!

Today my mom told me the house was a complete mess and that we needed to clean up all my toys. I thought they were fine scattered all over the house, where I could select them easily, but I told mom I would help clean up.

I wanted to show mom how smart I am, so I carefully spelled out my name with the toys, in nice neat letters.

Mom could not believe how smart I was! My mom has raised a very intelligent Jelly Bean!

.........Good thing that my name only has two letters in it!

Why Do Cats Have So Many Nicknames?

Here is a thought to ponder today, and please correct me if I am wrong. Why do cats always have so many nicknames? Are our moms crazy? Here are the names that my mom has called us over the years. It is a wonder that we even know who we are!

JB (Jelly Bean) -- Sammie, Sammie Jammie, Jelly, Janelle, Hootananny

PooPoo -- Niki, Poppy, Pops, Poppananny, Snacks

Misty -- Donshi, Schmallie, TaTa

Taffy -- Tiffany, Sunshine Girl, Donatelli, Taffy Girl

Do you think our mom is crazy?

Misty's Story

As I mentioned in a previous post, Misty has some serious health issues in the past. She had an ongoing problem with a kidney that kept retaining fluids around it, which had to be drained regularly for a couple of years. Dr. Staph had to finally remove the kidney in late February 2006.

After the surgery, she had all kinds of complications including vomiting, not eating, blood counts were off, irregular heartbeat, fluid in the lungs, and was so frightened that this hindered her recovery even more. She went from 11.5 pounds down to 7 pounds!

In early April, mom did not know what to do and had made an appointment with Dr. Staph to put her to sleep. It was a very sad day. Mom went to Dr. Staph's office crying, and then she could not do it! Dr. Staph said that the last resort was to put a feeding tube in her to see if we could get her some nourishment and get her to recover, though he thought she was too far gone already.

Misty came home from Dr. Staph's, and Mom opened the window to her room at home so she could smell the fresh air and watch birdies. Birdie therapy is always a good thing!

From here on out, Misty was in and out of the Dr's office for 3 months! She even had her own personal room there since she was so scared of all the other animals! The food through the feeding tube made her sick and she would vomit, so the Dr. had to prescribe an anti-nausea pill which mom had to crush in water and inject through the tube a 1/2 hour prior to each feeding. Mom also had to feed her liquid vet food through the tube 3x a day!

But, after a long haul, Misty finally was getting better in June! I think she was enjoying the special attention she was getting from mom! Dr. Staph thought it was time to stop feeding her through the tube and see if she would get hungry enough to eat on her own. It took just a day, and she did it! Misty ate by herself! Mom was SO excited! Almost 4 months of nursing and thousands of dollars, but it was all worth it! Misty was going to be ok, at least as long as she could survive on one kidney.

Misty was SUPER excited to be well again, so she made mom get a cake for Dr. Staph and all the people who helped her get well at the vet's office. Dr Staph said that she would never have gotten well if it had not been for the daily care that my mom provided for her. We love our mom for saving Misty!

Misty will be 13 this year. We hope she is with us for many more years to come!

Daddy Len's Belly!

When mom was away this past weekend, I snuggled on Daddy Len's belly.

Daddy Len's belly is one of my most favorite snuggling spots!


His belly is soft, cozy and comfortable. I like it a lot!


He just needs to stop working out so much and stop doing belly exercises at the gym! I have noticed that my snuggling spot is getting a little less squishy lately!

J and B -- Very Tempting!

My mom was SO excited to see me after her long weekend in California, that she made me a special creation with my favorite snack food! Can you guess what it is from this first picture?

It is a J and a B made from Temptations, just for me, Jelly Bean!

Over the weekend, I felt pretty bad about posting PooPoo's naked pudge pictures on the internet. This B smells really good, but I will only eat the J and I will let PooPoo have the B.

See? I can be nice......


I can't believe this! I try to be nice, and what does PooPoo do? She tries to snarf up the J too! Mom could not catch her fast enough to take a good picture or scold her.....bad PooPoo!

Lion Cut For PooPoo?

Since PooPoo is so smelly, she might have to go to Dr. Staph's office to get a lion cut! She had to have this done about a year ago, and she was SUPER pissy about it! Mom had never done it before, and almost died laughing when she saw PooPoo. Here are some pictures from a year ago.

PooPoo was not happy at all, and she walked around growling and grumbling for a few days. Her furs normally hide her pudge!

PooPoo is REALLY going to be pissy now, when she finds out I posted her pudge on the internet! I had better run and hide!

Pissy PooPoo

PooPoo overheard that Mom was going to leave us by ourselves for a week soon, and boy was she pissy! I think she is planning the next place she will poop. Whenever she gets mad, it is highly likely that mom will find a pile of poop somewhere in the house! She is a very pissy girl, and smelly too!

I am Mad Today!

I am mad today. I heard mom talking on the phone last night, and she was saying that she and Daddy Len will be going on a cruise at the end of this month. I know what that means.....it means we will have to be by ourselves! What are we going to do for a whole week, by ourselves? Kelly, our petsitter, will come feed us and scoop our potties, but that just doesn't cut it! We will be by ourselves for a week!!!! My anxiety is setting in again.....I am an anxious Jelly Bean!

I Take Notes for my Two (or Three!) Blogs

This is where I sit when I tell mom what to write in my blog. Mom gave me a pen so I can take notes when I think of something I want to say.

Mom made a snuggly spot for me to sit in on her desk with a blankie we got from my auntie in California. I think my auntie really gave this blankie to my mom, but I claimed it as soon as it came out of the box!

It must be time for my next nap. Naptime brings me to my Dream World, where I think of lots of new things to write about. Don't worry mom.........I won't make you create a 3rd blog for me!

Curious JB!

One of my outstanding traits is that I am very curious. I have been this way since I was a baby. Here are some baby pictures of me being super silly and curious, and one could say I am a Meerkat in the making! I am trying to get the glass balls out of the vase but my arms are too short....................

Maybe I can stick my head in the vase and reach them from the other side................

Misty on Tables

When Misty gets brave (and not so scared!), she likes to lay on tables! My mom lets her do it because she went through so much with her kidney surgery ordeal. Here she is on our kitchen table. Mom does not eat here very much because of all of Misty's toeprints!

Me and My Mom in the Morning

This is my small chair that I sit on when mom gets ready for work in the morning. I sit on it every day when mom gets ready. I have to be with my mom every day as much as possible. Mom's chair is the big chair.

I say goodbye at the front door every time she leaves the house, and I wait at the front door for her to come home every day. I am really a dog in a cat suit!

Now where is my mom? It is time for her to get ready for work.....I have to go find her!

I Ate Mom's Plant Yesterday....

I ate my mom's plant yesterday. Mom was trying to grow it from a small seed, and it had finally grown a couple of leaves. I am glad it was not a poisonous plant for cats. You can see a couple of leftover leaves laying next to the left of plant stem. It did not taste that good.
Mom won't stay mad at me for long......because I am too cute and snuggly, and she loves me!

Scaredy Cat

My sister, Misty, is always scared. Mom was able to catch her in this photo relaxing on a chair in the family room. She had a kidney removed almost two years ago and mom had to feed her through a tube for months....... she seems to be ok for now, just scared a lot.

Glad you could visit me in my Small World. I hope you enjoy my photos. Here I am, all tired out from trying to put together my new blog for my Small World......time for a long nap! And, no, I don't look like this from too much champagne last night!
