When I mentioned a sweater in my last post, it made me think of this story about my sister, Taffy. I would like to talk about a sweater again today, and also about the little cedar box you can see here below me on the shelf of my desk in Big and Small World Studios.
First I would like to show you this purple sweater. My grandma knitted this sweater for my mom many years ago, before I was borned. My mom kept the sweater in a closet on a hanger until one day, it fell down on the floor. At that moment, it became my sister, Taffy's sweater. Taffy just LOVED this sweater, because it was so soft on her toes. She made biscuits on this sweater every single day from that day forward!
But you might ask, why does this sweater have one arm cut off of it now? Well, my mom cut off the arm of this sweater when it was time for Taffy to go to the Bridge. Mom wanted Taffy to be able to make biscuits forever, and wanted her to be warm forever. So mom took the one arm of this sweater and let Taffy take it to the Bridge with her.
Inside this little cedar box is where Taffy's spirit and the arm of the purple sweater stays with us now. She will always be with us, and this little cedar box always sits on the shelf here at Big and Small World Studios.
Even now, as we are writing about her, almost two years later, mom is very sad. We will never forget Taffy......
