On this Memorial Day weekend, I would like to remember my sister, Taffy, who went to the Bridge almost two years ago. Taffy used to love to sit in this wicker basket on top of these towels in the bathroom. Mom left the basket just as it was when Taffy used it. She did not even wash the towels.
Sometimes when I am feeling sad and missing Taffy, I go and sit in this basket. It makes me feel better that I can still smell the scent of her furs. From this basket I send her purrs and tell her I miss her a lot.
Mom told me what the true meaning of Memorial Day is, but I hope nobody minds that I would like to remember Taffy too, on this Memorial Day weekend.
